Silangan Co-op has been a 3-year recipient of the "Most Outstanding Cooperative" in Davao City- Large Category (from 2004 to 2006) putting it in the Hall of Fame. In 2005, Silangan was also conferred the "Award of Excellence" for community-based Savings and Credit Cooperative by Region XI Cooperative Development Council. As a Platinum Awardee of the FOCCUS brand, Silangan is recognised by the World Council of Credit Unions, Inc. as a credit union that can stand as a model to other credit unions throughout the world.
To contribute to the improvement of the quality of lives of members, community development and sustainability by providing excellent services as the leading cooperative in Mindanao through competent and highly motivated workforce, digitized operation and synergistic cooperation.

In December 21, 1989, history was made with the inaugural meeting to form a cooperative. This pivotal gathering laid the groundwork for a collaborative venture that has since blossomed into a resilient community-driven enterprise. .
Building on the success of the initial meeting, a milestone was achieved on January 11, 1990, with the collection of P55,000.00 in contributions. This financial foundation propels our cooperative towards sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
On March 27, 1990, subsequent to a successful gathering, we reached a noteworthy milestone with the official registration and approval of our Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws. This formal process underscores our dedication to transparency and effective governance, shaping the foundation of our cooperative.
On May 29, 1990, the release of the approved Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws marked a pivotal step in formally establishing our cooperative. Together, we commence a journey rooted in shared values, paving the way for mutual success and enduring community prosperity.
On June 1, 1990, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative (SMPC) was formally born, symbolizing unity and shared prosperity. This significant date marks the commencement of our cooperative's impactful journey towards sustainable development and community empowerment.
In August 1997, CUES introduced the Member Customer Utility Billing (MCUB), revolutionizing our service offerings. This innovation streamlined processes, enhancing efficiency and providing our members with advanced and user-friendly utility billing solutions.
In 1998, Silangan extends a warm invitation to join the CUES Project, fostering collaboration and innovation. Together, we embark on a journey to enhance services and empower our community through advanced cooperative solutions.
In the year 2000, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative proudly received the FOCCUS Silver Award, a testament to our unwavering dedication to financial transparency, community service, and sustainable cooperative practices.
In the milestone year of 2022, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative achieved unparalleled success, securing both the FOCCUS Gold and Platinum Awards. This prestigious recognition reflects our steadfast commitment to excellence, innovation, and community impact in the cooperative sector.
In 2002, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative earned the esteemed title of Model Cooperative, a testament to our exemplary practices and impact. This recognition solidifies our commitment to excellence, inspiring cooperative growth and community development.
In 2004, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative proudly earned the title of the Most Outstanding Cooperative in the Large Category. This recognition highlights our sustained commitment to excellence and outstanding leadership in the cooperative realm.
Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative achieved distinction with the Award of Excellence for Community-Based Savings and Credit Cooperative from RCDC XI. Additionally, we expanded our footprint by opening branches in Buhangin, Calinan, and Toril, reinforcing our commitment to community empowerment and financial inclusion.

In 2009, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative achieved significant milestones. We inaugurated SMPC Building 2 in Buhangin, opened the Bonifacio and Buhangin Branch 2, and were honored with the Outstanding Cooperative Hall of Fame award. These accomplishments reflect our commitment to growth, accessibility, and exemplary cooperative practices.
In 2010, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative continued its growth trajectory with the opening of the Matina Branch and the inauguration of both SMPC Building 3 and the Mintal Branch. These endeavors reflect our ongoing dedication to expanding services and fostering community development.
In 2014, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative expanded its reach and accessibility with the successful opening of the R. Castillo and Bankerohan Branches. These additions reaffirm our commitment to providing financial services to diverse communities and fostering cooperative growth.
In 2016, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative marked a momentous year with the opening of the Tagum Branch, expanding our footprint further. Simultaneously, we renewed our commitment to excellence, receiving the prestigious FOCCUS Platinum Award once again. These achievements signify our dedication to continuous growth, service, and exceptional cooperative practices.
In 2019, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative celebrated multiple milestones, including the opening of the Panabo Satellite Office, the successful graduation of the first batch of the Management Training Program, and achieving a remarkable milestone of 1 Billion in assets. These accomplishments reflect our dedication to expansion, education, and financial success for our cooperative and members.
In 2022, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative achieved a milestone by conducting its first international benchmarking activity in Singapore. This initiative reflects our commitment to continuous improvement, learning from global best practices, and enhancing cooperative excellence.
In 2023, Silangan Multipurpose Cooperative reached new heights with the opening of the Cagayan de Oro and General Santos Branches. Additionally, a significant achievement was recorded as we surpassed a remarkable 123 million in net surplus, showcasing our sustained financial strength and commitment to expansion.
